Endeavour

In May 1966, Endeavour returns to the force following several months of involuntary sick leave. Soon he's investigating the suicide of an unknown man, a missing girl from Oxfordshire, and stolen museum artifacts. Morse finds himself in conflict with his superiors when he believes the cases are connected.

On a quiet day at the Museum of Natural History, where only some schoolgirls roam the halls, a genealogy and heraldry specialist is murdered. Then a 12-year-old girl is killed at her boarding school in a similar fashion, leading Endeavour to investigate a century-old series of unsolved crimes.

The Oxford Strangler is on the loose, and the killing of a housewife with a silk stocking is the third such murder in a month. The victims share similar traits: married, alone in their homes, their wedding rings taken. Endeavour must put his personal problems aside to focus on catching the killer, but a face from Inspector Thursday's past complicates matters.

A boy goes missing from his abusive father. A journalist's body is found on a railway line. An escaped convict, with only a month left on his sentence, is found dead. DC Morse and DI Thursday find connections to Blenheim Vale, an abandoned facility for wayward boys. But their investigation leads them to corruption in high places.
