About Personal Information Use Across Amazon Services
Starting 6 March 2024 EU law requires your consent for use of your personal information across the Amazon services.
If you agree:
- we will use your personal information between our Store and other Amazon services to improve your Amazon experience, including by making better recommendations across these services;
- we will also use your personal information from any of these Amazon services to personalize the ads we show you on any of the other services.
If you decline or revoke your consent, your experience across Amazon services may be less relevant. We will still use your personal information to provide the Amazon products and services that you may request from us. For example, you can still use your Amazon account for:
- placing an order for an Echo or Fire TV device on our Stores;
- asking Alexa to place an Amazon order on the Stores for you;
- playing an Amazon Music title that you purchased from the Stores.
We will also use your personal information between the Stores and other Amazon services for certain purposes, for example to comply with our legal obligations (such as when you request your data from us), for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims, and for preventing fraud/ensuring security.
Here are the Amazon services and the types of personal information to which your choice will apply:
Amazon Stores
Includes your browsing and order history, along with other personal information from your activity on the Amazon shopping app and the Amazon online stores: Amazon.com.be, Amazon.de, Amazon.es, Amazon.fr, Amazon.it, Amazon.nl, Amazon.pl, Amazon.se.
Alexa
Includes your interactions with Alexa.
Entertainment
Includes your watch history and other interactions across our entertainment services, including Video, Music & Podcasts, Audible (audiobooks and podcasts), Games, IMDB, Kindle eBooks, Twitch.
Amazon Device Services
Includes your interactions across the following devices and related services including our device operating systems, Amazon Appstore, Silk browser, Amazon Kids / Kids+*, Amazon Photos, and our other device services to support the experience on Echo devices, Fire Tablets, Fire TV, Ring, Blink, Eero, Kindle e-Readers, and Smart Home devices.
*We will not use personal information from Amazon Kids / Kids+ to personalize ads on Amazon services. To learn more about children’s privacy, visit the Children's Privacy Notice.
Other Amazon services
Includes your interactions on Shopbop, AbeBooks, and Amazon Business (including information from external business databases about prospective business customers).
