The Battalion Fire and Rescue TV Series

Battalion Chief Birkhimer shows us around the 1st Battalion as he makes his rounds around his Fire and Rescue Battalion. He stops in at Station 10 for a quick meeting. The Captain explains how they take care to keep the Bunker Gear free of pathogens in their cleaning and storage methods. Then, we arrive at Headquarters for a Chiefs meeting and we ride with the crew of Rescue 17.

A day with Engine 17 of the Columbus Fire department. We go to a rescue of a vehicle accident in the rain. They discover that the driver is high on Heroin. We ride with Medic 17 as they response to a homeless person at the tracks. Back at rescue, they're dispatched to a vehicle accident and have to bring out the cutter tools and jaws of life for a difficult extrication.

An assortment of calls, from a car fire to man struck on his bike. This 24 starts with a roll-call, including Deputy Chief Whiting, now the Assistant Chief. The Columbus Fire Department maintains the checking of hydrants seasonally. A tour of the Rescue Unit and the tools they use. The first responders respond to a vehicle fire.

Rescue and Engine 17 arrive on scene of a home on fire. The firefighters respond next to an extraction.

The crew on Rescue 17 respond to another rescue. A driver pinned behind the wheel. They are able to extricate the patient from the car and move them to a backboard. Inside the Medic Unit, a problem arises when they find a discrepancy in the drivers license with their patient. 1st call of the next morning, it's a portal potty on fire at the park.

It's snowing in Columbus. This 24 with Battalion Chief Devine starts off with a morning meeting, his upcoming retirement is on everyone's mind. As with many departments, the departure of seasoned firefighters puts the department at risk. A call comes in for a structure fire and the fire company move into action.

This 24 hours at Station 15 starts off with the engine company on there way to a home alarm. They arrive on scene to a beautiful four story home. At first they don't see any smoke or indication of fire. As they are about to leave, the camera man sees a tiny amount of smoke seeping out from under a composition shingle at the peak of the roof and the firemen go into action.

This 24 starts with roll-call. It's time to check the tools on the truck. It's a really slow day, mostly Engine and EMS Captain calls. night falls a call comes in. We are out the door and arrive on scene of an row home apartment fire.

Cold winter in Columbus. Rescue 17 responds to a structure fire just down the street. 1st up is an EMS call to a municipal bus. Then night falls, a call comes in, and it's a structure fire just down the street.

A tour of Columbus Ohio from the air flying with the crew of the Columbus Police Department's air unit. We go to Headquarters and we find the current recruits in training at one of the most well designed training centers in the country. Later, we attend their graduation. Now they are Probies, rookie firemen.. Next week starts their first day as a professional firefighter.

This morning starts with Probie Firefighter Bishop as he arrives to work for his first shift. He's on Unit 2, and they put him on the truck with Butch and the crew. We ride with him on his first call. The experience firemen school him on job. This is how rookie firemen learn. Next a call comes in, possible structure fire with smoke showing.

We continue to follow the Probie as he starts his career as a firemen. It's a EMS call and we smell of something in the basement. It's an electric motor fire. It could have been bad, but it was caught in time. Back at the station a call comes in. Both Engine and Truck are out the door. It's a medical call and the Probie and the Firemen spring into action.

The recent Academy graduate and now a Probie arrives at Station 10 after being transferred. It's his very first day on the job at this station. He finds the Captain that he needs to report to who gives him the tour. He's a trucker on his first twenty four hour shift. Night comes and a call comes in and they arrive on the scene of a three story home blazing.

We ride with the crew on Engine 15. 1st call and it's a medical. The police have had to detained the prospective patience because he got out of control and the police have to help stabilize him. We ride with this patient through the ER doors. The next call is a young man on a very small motorcycle he is hit by a car. After stabilizing him get him ready for transport and secure him to the gurney.

Station 15 a call comes in for a police assist. We arrive on scene to find a man down with bullet wounds. The firemen spring into action. Night comes and another a call comes in. They arrive on scene of a dispute in line at a fast food drive thru.
