Mapp And Lucia

Second of two comedy drama series based on the books by E F Benson, following the rivalry between two society ladies in a small seaside town during the 1930s.

Lucia dabbles in the stock market and her shares pay out big dividends, prompting other Tilling residents to follow suit and make a profit.

Mapp thinks she is pregnant and finds herself in dire financial straits. Lucia proposes that they switch houses to help Mapp out.

Lucia's stock market success allows her to carry out a series of charitable works in Tilling, much to Mapp's chagrin.

Lucia marries Georgie and becomes mayor of Tilling. When Lucia is asked to select a Lady Mayoress, her female friends all start vying for the title.
