Thomas & Friends - Seasons 18, 19, 20, 21

Sidney is a hard working diesel, but he's also forgetful. But when Sidney admits that he's worried he might forget what he has to do, Thomas suggests making up a song to help him remember. Sidney goes off happily singing a song about collecting a crate from Brendam docks, but when he stops to talk to Gordon he gets distracted and forgets what he's supposed to be doing!

Christmas is approaching and it is the last chance for children to post their letters to Santa. Percy is collecting the mail, but there is a lot of snow on the rails and it isn't easy to get through. When Percy runs into a snowdrift it is Harold who volunteers to take the letters for him.

Philip spots Toby and assumes that he is a diesel boxcab just like him. Convinced that they will become best friends, Philip rushes up to introduce himself, but Toby finds him rather overwhelming. Philip is very persistent and manages to get Toby to have a race with him, but Toby doesn't like it very much.

When Gordon is late to pull the Express the Fat Controller gives it to Henry instead. Because Gordon has said how difficult his work is, Henry doubts he's up to the job but more than proves himself and all the passengers love him. Gordon is left to take over Henry's work, which he thinks is beneath him, and he ends up going on strike.

Diesel always likes to appear rough and tough in front of Arry and Bert. But when Thomas, unexpectedly, finds him lovingly fussing over some baby ducklings he threatens to tell everyone that Diesel is just a big softie. Diesel is horrified and promises to be nice to everyone in exchange for Thomas not telling anyone about the ducklings.

The Troublesome Trucks are being particularly cheeky and disobedient. When a new brake van called Bradford arrives from The Mainland Thomas is delighted to work with him as Bradford is excellent at keeping The Troublesome Trucks under control. But Bradford is a real stickler for the rules, and Thomas soon tires of his petty regulations, which are always making him late!

Samson boasts proudly that he has been given a very special job taking stone from the quarry to the docks. But when he learns that Thomas has been given the same job he tries to find another way to prove how important he is. So he decides to take much more trucks than he should insisting that this will save time.

Ryan and Daisy share a shed in Arlesburgh. Daisy has been around a while and she likes to do just what work she chooses - and no more! Ryan, meanwhile, is a new engine who is willing to work and eager to please. Daisy takes advantage of Ryan's good nature by encouraging him to help her out with some extra tasks.

Daisy the railcar can carry passengers without having to pull any coaches. So, when Thomas is sent to work in the quarry for a spell and Daisy takes on his usual responsibilities, Annie and Clarabel are left behind. Daisy takes every opportunity to remind Annie and Clarabel that, as long as she is working Thomas's branch line, they are not needed.

Snow comes early to the Island of Sodor - and it is heavier than usual! Donald and Douglas are coupled back-to-back with a van between their tenders and snowploughs on their fronts. Donald and Douglas keep squabbling about which line they should clear first, culminating in a big argument. Donald pulls away hard, snapping a damaged coupling and moving away with Douglas's tender!

James likes to show off and be the centre of attention, but when he doesn't get his own way, he sulks and pouts. One day James is showing off so much that the passengers start complaining so the Fat Controller takes his coaches away. James starts to pout and he is still pouting the next morning. He is so sulky and rude that the Fat Controller leaves him in his shed.

A storm is approaching and Skiff and Joe, the Lighthouse Keeper, patrol Arlesburgh, helping everyone to prepare for it. Duck and Oliver don't think a 'tiny little railboat' should be out in a storm and it seems they are right when Skiff's anchor rope snaps and his sail unfurls.

When the Fat Controller gives Daisy the job of conveying some special passengers up to the holiday town of Harwick, she gets carried away with the responsibility - deciding that, because she is a very special engine, they must be very special passengers!

Thomas loves to race against Max and Monty, the cheeky dumper trucks. But, after one near accident too many, he decides he must ignore them if he wants to get on and be Useful. But, without Thomas to race against, Max and Monty muck about at the building site and Oliver is damaged. Then they race against the other construction vehicles, to see who can get their work done the quickest.

Connor is one of the fastest engines that visits the Island of Sodor, and is proud that he is always bang on time! But one day one of his coupling rods breaks and nearly derails him. Connor is shocked. He's never broken down before and decides that he must have been going too fast.

Everyone knows James is choosy about his work, so he's delighted to be picked to take the Mayor and the Fat Controller to a ball in Vicarstown and promises to do all his other jobs without complaint. But James is horrified at the end of the day when his guard finds a tiny scratch on his paintwork!

It's the hottest day of the year on Sodor and the sun is causing the tracks to buckle and bend. Dowager Hatt, arrives with a present for the Fat Controller - a white pith helmet to protect him from the sun explaining that white reflects heat. Meanwhile the buckled tracks cause Whiff to lose some rubbish from his trucks and a dropped bottle causes a fire.

The three miniature engines are the smallest on the Island of Sodor. People love to come to see them, but sometimes they don't seem to take them seriously, making comments about them being cute, or like toys. When it is time for the sheep's wool to be delivered to market, the Small Controller says it is the miniature engines' chance to prove how useful they really are.

One day two visitors come to the Island of Sodor to take pictures of interesting engines. At first Bert finds them very polite. They drive their little blue car along the line, racing ahead of him and stop to take pictures as they go past. But they don't bother waving or saying hello and when they drive through a puddle Bert gets splashed with muddy water and decides that they are very rude.

When Duck's driver boils an egg in his whistle it leaves Duck making a very funny sound. The other engines think it is very funny, but Mike insists that an engine that can't whistle is not a proper engine. Mike can be grumpy and tends to overheat, but when he loses his temper with a cow later that day he blows his own whistle cap right off and into a field.
