Elise has been living in LA trying her luck as a stand-up comedian. She returns home to Norway to renew her visa but her fly-by visit doesn't exactly go to plan. Alex has made it to the last try-outs for theatre school but her boyfriend Kimmo is getting in the way and Nenne has written a script for her book but is not sure what to do with it. During a catering job an unexpected opportunity arises. A Walter Presents selection.

Elise has to find a place to live - easier said than done when you are broke and out of work. Alex is at the last tryouts for the theatre college and is struggling to figure out what the jury is looking for. Nenne realizes she has to think outside the box if she is to get help with her book.

Elise has moved in with Anders and is trying to convince herself it's completely uncomplicated. She has her first encounter with the Norwegian stand-up crowd. Alex gets some bad news and doesn't feel like going home to Kimmo who's becoming increasingly concerned. Nenne gets help with her book from Sissel, but finds herself being more involved in Sissel’s private life than she's comfortable with.

An old friend appears and invites the girls to a cabin getaway. Nenne and Alex see this as a golden opportunity to get out of the city and convince a hesitant Elise to come along. But the girls bring their troubles with them: Elise is struggling with her feelings for Anders, Nenne has writers block and starts digging into her own past to find inspiration and Alex is furious with Kimmo.

Elise is able to forget about Anders for a moment when she meets the charming bartender Ole. Nenne makes some questionable choices at work at the same time as the deadline for the book script is drawing near and Alex considers giving up her dream of becoming an actor when she gets an unexpected phone call...

Elise’s sister is getting married and Elise does all she can to give her sister the best day ever but the cracks in their family’s ‘harmonious’ appearance are beginning to show. At the same time, she's worried her friendship with Anders is at risk. Nenne has been given the responsibility for the wedding food but when she receives some bad news, a despairing Alex is lumbered with the job.
