Sharon is providing election campaign support for her husband Ellis, who is standing for reelection as mayor of Miami, when their nine-year-old son Tommy is kidnapped at an election event by a Cuban commando unit. The kidnappers then demand that the mayor withdraw from the campaign. Sharon secretly decides to fly to Cuba, where her son is rumored to have been taken.
