15-year-old Tommy Barnes filmed his 27 mile walk from his suburban high school to the Detroit riverfront. Braving forests and darkened Detroit viaducts, Tommy pioneers a straight line path downtown. His trek reflects Detroit's transition from post-apocalyptic decay to renaissance, narrated by the people who live there. As Tommy sees a Detroit that few people ever see, he too is transformed.
