Rachel, a young woman in her early 20's, lives with her Nigerien uncle (Danny Glover) and his American wife (Edythe Davis). When the girl's aunt has had enough of her niece's free-spirited lifestyle she kicks her out of the house. Left to figure it out on her own, Rachel runs into Skeeter, a washed-up movie star. Together, they decide to "play a part" in hopes of both getting what they need.
