The Forgotten Village (1941)

The people of Santiago, a remote Mexican Village, are steeped in superstition & folklore. Ignorance and lack of hygiene cause disease and deaths among children, but the local medicine woman, fearing loss of control, foils efforts of government agencies to help the village folk. Captures the ignorance and superstition that held sway over villagers in remote regions of Mexico in a touching manner.
