British astronaut Jeff Nolan returns to earth to find his hometown has been invaded by a robot army. Controlled by an alien race bent on the domination of Earth, the robots use a poison gas to turn the humans into zombie-like creatures; and Nolan must avoid a similar fate. When he finds a group of human survivors, he leads them in an attack against the robots.
