Journalist Cal McCaffrey is sent to investigate the suspicious death of Sonia Baker, political aide and lover of married MP Stephen Collins.

Stephen's story becomes more complicated when it is revealed that he was planning to leave his wife for Sonia. Della realises her life is in danger, can she trust McCafrrey?

Cal is released from jail by DCI Bell and joins him in a plan to find the hitman. As Cal waits it out, his team pin the author of the anonymous letters to city boy Dominic Foy.

Stephen's position becomes more isolated while Cal and his team corner Dominic Foy, who constantly changes his story. He's clearly running scared but why?
