Grigory Rasputin was killed in December, 1916. Shortly after, the autocracy in Russia collapsed. By decree of the provisional government, the state Commission investigated the murder. The investigator, Henry N. Switten, questioned over a hundred and fifty witnesses. Bit by bit, he collected information about that terrible night and who Rasputin really was.
