When an uneducated, prankster, Raja falls in love with Madhu, a city girl, he tries to win her heart by posing as a smart and progressive man. Madhu eventually falls in love with him. But upon finding out the truth, she walks out on him, leaving him and his wealthy parents humiliated in front of the entire village. Raja pledges to make something of himself and get Madhu back in his life.
