Rusty the Fireman and Pam the Paramedic visit a real fire station where children will learn key safety messages they need to know about the fire station and begin learning about fire safety and the important role the fire station plays in fire safety for the community.

To a child the sight of a firefighter wearing a mask, equipment and the protective clothing firefighters wear can be scary. In this episode kids will learn about a firefighters gear including how each piece works and what firefighters look like while performing their critical tasks.

This episode introduces and explains the different fire trucks and vehicles, like the pumpers and ladder trucks and the different parts and equipment for each truck and also explains how the specially trained professionals drive and safely operate each type of vehicle.

Rusty the Fireman and Pam the Paramedic teach how kids can be pro-active and help their parents and keep their homes safe. The episode explains what starts fires and provides safety tips on how to prevent fires from starting at home and also explains the importance of fire safety.

The Rainbow Valley Fire Department crew teaches children what causes fire, how it spreads and how firefighters put them out. They will also show the important fire tools every household should have including smoke detectors and fire extinguishers. Kids will also learn some real-life statistics to help drive home the importance of fire safety.

Kids and parents learn how to create a Home Escape Plan and learn why it is an essential tool that can help save everyone’s life. The episode shows how to draw a plan of the house; establish a meeting place away from the house and how to review the plan with family members, baby sitters and care givers.

Fire In Your House Part 1 of 2. Finding a fire in your house is scary so learning step-by-step exactly what to do should kids find a fire in their house in very important. This episode explains many of the steps to take when you detect a fire.

Fire In Your House Part 2 of 2. This episode continues to explain to kids the steps to take if there is a fire in your home including how to get safely out of the house, where to meet with other family members outside at a safe pre-planned area, how to stay out of the firefighter’s way and what to do after the fire is out.
