Hong Jong-du finds an unlikely soulmate in Gong-ju the daughter of the victim of the hit-and-run accident he went to jail for. In a wheelchair with severe cerebral palsy, Gong-ju is kept in a cheap apartment by her brother so he can collect her government assistance. Through clandestine meetings, the two begin an improbable relationship that defies the cruelty of the world around them.
