These transports require pinpoint planning, which can only take place in certain time slots or with special safety precautions, and for which large teams plan months in advance before things are ready.

From Papenburg, the only route to the North Sea leads via the shallow and narrow river Ems which is actually entirely unsuitable for conveying gigantic cruise ships. But still, every Meyer Werft ship has to negotiate this channel.
