Ladybird is an important drama inspired by real events. The film chronicles the violent life of Maggie (Rock), a welfare mother who finds hope and love with Jorge, a Praguayan political refugee. With Jorge at her side, Maggie wages an emotional fight against an unforgiving social welfare system which tries to take away her children.
