La Unidad

After more than a year, the police investigation unit led by Carla Torres managed to arrest Ismail Hamid. However, the first-born son of Granada-based Syrian businessman Omar Al Hassan, who has links to the Jihadist movement, dies during the operation. Broken by grief, Al Hassan sets up a hit against Carla and Sanabria to avenge the death of his son.

Following the deaths of Sanabria and Sergio in terrorist attacks, Carla is given a police protection detail and needs to keep distance from Lua to avoid putting her in danger. Devastated by the deaths of their colleagues, the remaining members of the Unit search for the members of the terrorist cell: Nahila and a mysterious man who they are unable to identify.

Marcos’ apartment comes under fire while he’s in bed with Kala, and Lua is sleeping in her bedroom. Aware that all of them could be targets, he assigns a police protection detail to all the members of the Unit, who also need to face up to the fact that there could be a mole among them. Finally, they manage to identify the mysterious man: it is Fennec, Nahila’s brother, whom they assumed was dead.

The Unit has managed to bring Fennec’s children to Spain and has organized a trap in the hope that he will go to visit them. While waiting, they manage to find out that Nahila has someone who is financing her cell, but the search for the mole dries up. The plan to catch Fennec works: he arranges a meeting with his children. But at the last moment he manages to evade the police.

Fennec’s escape confirms that there is a mole in the Unit. Al Hassan issues instructions to carry out the final hit on Carla. However, a mistake by the mole reveals her identity: it is Fátima. Her collaboration enables Nahila to be arrested, but Fennec kills himself to avoid falling into the hands of the police. Al Hassan manages to escape, thanks to the CNI.

Al Hassan has fled, but now that the cell is neutralized the members of the Unit can go back to their lives without police protection. However, they are oblivious to the last part of Al Hassan’s plan, which is still in place: four men attack Lua’s school and take her and some other children hostage, and there’s no way of solving this without fatalities.
