How to Make a Pearl

For 53 years, John Kapellas frolicked underneath the bright sky of the American West but one day started to burn, blister and break out in rashes when exposed to light. Now allergic to light, Kapellas has spent the last decade living in darkness. When one side effect of the drugs made him 'go nuts,' he started drawing gigantic abstract pictures on his wall. A documentary from The Guardian.
