Detective Benny Griessel is on the verge of apprehending top Cape Town crime boss Madison Madikiza. Meanwhile, Thobela Mpayipheli, a former security enforcer, seeks revenge after a family tragedy.

Benny leads the hunt for the killer, but a drink-fuelled personal crisis threatens his new position. Thobela visits a grieving mother also failed by the justice system and pledges to find her son.

Benny investigates Reyneke's murder, putting him in grave danger from an unexpected source, while Thobela tracks down Madikiza.

Christine plots her escape but returns home to find that her daughter has been kidnapped. Meanwhile Benny sees an opportunity in putting Christine's story in the news.

Having discovered the identity of the Assegai Killer, Benny uses Bonnie to lure him out. However, as the network of corruption crumbles, Benny finds his family in danger.
