Conversations in L.A.

Michelle Macabee is on her way to her "Hamlet" stage audition (in a 25-minute one-take episode that hits five different locations) and Gus brings up the relationship issues he's having with her as they settle into married life. Just when the couple thinks they're back on track, one incident causes a near accident and sends them on a different route.

Michelle Macabee meets a "fan" while she's on a walk at the beach, but her "fan" turns out to be someone she knows who spills the beans about Gus. Michelle walks away and is chased and harassed by this young woman until Michael Miller (Justin Kirk), a passerby, breaks up the argument and befriends Michelle.

Michelle challenges Gus in couple's therapy, with their new couple's therapist, Dr. Kerr (Willie Garson). Gus claims he knows nothing about the "rumors" Michelle has heard, and by the end of their session, he diverts the attention off of him and makes Michelle an offer she cannot resist.

Following a musical number that takes us into Michelle's world as a commercial actress with Michelle's commercial director, Blaine (Eric Balfour), Michelle and Gus, take a late-night walk after their adoption class and have a heart-to-heart discussion about the direction their relationship is taking.

Gus makes his way across the desert and we hear his thoughts as he struggles with everything he's going through at this particular juncture in his life.

In a fourth interview with Mrs. Shannon Pierce (Amy Pietz), a foster-to-adopt social worker, Gus, with Michelle by his side, is drilled with personal questions that make him so uncomfortable he threatens to file a complaint to Mrs. Pierce's supervisor, but when Mrs. Pierce reveals what she knows about Gus, Michelle freezes in a state of disbelief.

Gus shows up at the home of a new client (Lou Diamond Phillips) who uses their meeting as an opportunity to teach Gus a very painful life lesson.

Michelle stops by the home of Michael Miller (Justin Kirk), the gentleman she met in episode two. One thing leads to another that causes Michelle to leave, but before she does, she reveals something to Michael that brings the two together in the most unforeseeable way.

Season Three of the 5X Emmy-nominated series stars creator Anne Marie Cummings and co-star Gustavo Velasquez with Justin Kirk, Lou Diamond Phillips, Amy Pietz, Willie Garson, Eric Balfour, and Terra Strong.
