Sterling K. Brown and Ryan Michelle Bathe met as undergrad theater majors at Stanford. Khadeen and Devale Ellis were teenagers when they first met. Tammy Franklin met her husband Kirk Franklin young at an amusement park. Tamia and Grant Hill remember the details of their first meeting quite differently. Grant had an ankle injury and missed four seasons. Tamia was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Jamie was airlifted to the hospital and told that he was paralyzed, and should expect to regain only 30% mobility in his legs. Wynette was diagnosed with a rare Auto Immune Disease that affects mobility and flexibility. Styles P and Adjua expereinced tragedy, their daughter committed suicide.

Kirk and Tammy realized they had become that couple at the restaurant who have nothing to say. Grant and Tamia didn"t go into their marriage with too many expectations. Justine and Rev stick to a very rigid rule no matter what they fight about - leaving each other is never an option.
