Diana returns from London for Denise and Brett"s wedding and struggles to prove to her new beau, Harry, that her family are as insane as she says they are—especially since Easton seems to have discovered his Zen state. A scuffle at the nuptials, however, will land both chefs in hot water.

Diana is anxious to complete her community service so she can focus on making a new dish for the menu of her London restaurant. She drags Easton to the soup kitchen, but getting him to do any work is another matter altogether—until Ben Zhao turns up. Then, in the spirit of petty rivalry, Easton produces the best soup the patrons have ever tasted.

The Wests have a dark night of the soul as they struggle to deal with someone they never thought they"d see again: long-lost, presumed dead matriarch, June. As they try to find out where she"s been all these years—and why she"s back now—the only thing they accomplish is to pick at the scabs of their own fragile relationships.

On the day of the soup kitchen"s star-studded fundraiser, Easton and Diana discover that the kitchen"s usual celeb chef, Ben Zhao, has left them out to dry with no ingredients and has invited none other than TV food critic Matt Preston. Kitchen hand Terry has a novel solution: dumpster diving! Can Easton and Diana rise to the challenge of creating spectacular dishes from literal trash?

After Easton"s anti-waste antics at the fundraiser go viral—in a good way, for once—Margot brings him a pallet of imperfect produce and challenges him to make something with it. However, all Easton wants to do is come up with a TV show idea. Harry promises Diana that he"ll smooth things over with Viggo.

Wallowing after her breakup, Diana still manages to interrupt Easton filming his pilot pitch for "Easton West: Waste Warrior." Their subsequent bickering is interrupted by a real estate agent wanting to appraise the house, and when the family goes looking to June for an explanation, they discover she"s skipped out on them again. Can they find her in time to prevent her from selling their home?
