A BW fiction film based on Aleksey Tolstoy's novel The Garin Death Ray. In 1925, using the invention of Prof. Mantsev, the Russian engineer Pyotr Garin creates a weapon of an unprecedented destructive force - a hyperboloid, a generator of a powerful thermal ray. He decides to use the unit to realise his idea of becoming the ruler of the world. Hunting begins after Garin and his weapon.
