Takuya Kanbara receives a strange message that leads him to the Digital World. Meeting a group of kids there, he comes across a Digimon hunting for something called a Legendary Spirit...

Takuya, Izumi, Tomoki and Junpei learn about Cherubimon and the current state of the Digital World from Bokomon and Neamon. When Raremon attacks, another child, Kouji, stands in its way when suddenly...

A strange voice from their Digivices encourages the kids to head for the Forest Terminal. They learn of the 10 Legendary Warriors and of the tyrant Lucemon before Agnimon and Tomoki take on the Candmon Tribe?!

Izumi, Junpei and Kouji stop in Breezy Village, when the kids' Digivices react to the presence of a Spirit. The normally peaceful Mushmon Brothers begin to torment the residents when a new Spirit reveals itself!

Wind Factory Inc. produces wind for the Digital World, via the power of Kokuwamon. When it's revealed that the Kokuwamon are being forced to work by the Goburimon, Junpei leads the charge to try to free them!

DigiCode makes up the various areas of the Digital World. When the kids try to help rescue a group of kidnapped Digimon, they encounter Grottemon, an evil Legendary Warrior who wants the mountains' DigiCode!

After losing to Gigismon, Takuya, Kouji and Tomoki find themselves in a land filled with toys. When Tomoki wants to play, Takuya and Kouji disagree over treating him like a child, until Tomoki's kidnapped by WaruMonzaemon!

Izumi, Junpei, Bokomon and Neamon come across a Digimon elementary school and a standoffish student, Tsunomon. When a flood threatens both the school and its students, Tsunomon has to overcome the fear of evolving.

Reuniting in a forest full of TVs, the children learn that each Legendary Warrior actually has two spirits: a Human Spirit and a Beast Spirit. That night, a corrupted Bakumon appears and gives Tomoki a nightmare that causes him to evolve and attack the other children!

Kouji heads off alone as Bokomon and Neamon follow him. The three meet Gottsumon who is searching for a Spirit to take on Grottemon with. As the other kids arrive, Grottemon attacks and steals Izumi's Human Spirit but another new Spirit is also revealed...

The children meet Shamamon, a Digimon who gives Takuya and Tomoki an ominous warning. When Grottemon steals Tomoki's Human Spirit, Vritramon appears, but it's actually Shamamon possessed by the Beast Spirit! Takuya defeats and scans Vritramon but he's also forced to evolve...

The Beast Spirit of Fire rages out of control and burns the forest around them. Tomoki helps Takuya recover his courage and conquer his fears, returning to normal. When Grottemon reappears, Takuya returns the favor and reclaims Tomoki's Human Spirit!

As the children finally arrive at the Forest Terminal, one of the three Great Angel Digimon, Seraphimon, is awakened by their Digivices. However, their meeting is interrupted by the arrival of 3 more evil Legendary Warriors: Arbormon, Ranamon and Mercuremon!

Mercuremon ponders what to do with the data stolen from Seraphimon as the children find a trapped Whamon in a cavern. When Arbormon and Grottemon find them, Arbormon slide evolves to Petaldramon, Izumi's Human Spirit is reclaimed and another Beast Spirit is found!

When a group of Tocanmon (who are Ranamon's fans) surprise the kids with lunch and a beach getaway, the boys' Digivices get stolen! When they go to give the Digivices to Ranamon, she ends up finding her Beast Spirit!

The kids run into a group of Gomamon, who have been unable to return to the beach they lived on due to rough seas. When they try to help the Gomamon and pursue the Tocanmon, Calamaramon appears and knocks Izumi into the ocean whirlpools!

When Tomoki finds and begs for the Digivices the Tocanmon sold, Akiba Market's Nanomon says he needs to find him a treasure in exchange. As Tomoki searches, he comes across the Tocanmon in danger and saves them. When Arbormon appears and orders Nanomon to hand over the Digivices, what will Nanomon do?

Thanks to Tomoki's actions, he earned his Beast Spirit and reclaimed the Digivices from Nanomon. They also know their next destination: the Rose Star! However, the once-a-year Trailmon Race is about to begin, and the prize is a tantalizing pile of victory hamburgers! That's worth a quick detour... right?

Burgamon Village makes amazing burgers but the Chamelemon kidnap the head chef! When the kids have a contest to try to lure the Chamelemon in, Izumi, Junpei and Tomoki are captured as well! When they arrive, they find that the Digimon who wants all of these delcious burgers is... Petaldramon?!

Cherubimon calls together his remaining servants but the Digimon named Duskmon is absent. Reaching the Darkness Continent, the children travel farther within. There they battle and claim Arbormon's Beast Spirit before Duskmon appears, defeating Arbormon, claiming his Spirit and Digicode!

Duskmon easily handles the 5 Legendary Warriors and the kids run for the moment. Takuya and Kouji both have wildly different strategies for trying to handle Duskmon and Kouji warns Takuya not to drag the others into an unwinnable situation. When Kouji ends up protecting Takuya, Duskmon begins to act strange...

After a crippling defeat causes him to flee, Takuya finds himself back home, returned to that fateful day he boarded the Trailmon. Except for some reason, he's an observer in Digimon form. Will he stop his past self from entering the Digital World in the first place, or renew his committment to the fight?

An injured Kouji attempts to save his captured friends, who are being subject to questioning by Ranamon and Mercuremon. Meanwhile, Takuya returns to the Digital World, his connection to his Digimon powers strengthened by his trials.

The children are taken into a strange world, where Junpei gets separated from the group. He first fights against the sonic attacks of Volcamon, but his true enemy becomes his own self-doubt. Can his faith in his bonds with his new friends triumph over his past?

The five warriors end up separated within the massive labyrinth of Sephirothmon. This time, it's Tomoki's turn to confront his dependence on others, while Kouji does battle with the fast-moving Karatenmon.
