Before punk there was Radio Birdman. In 1974 Australia they were industry outlaws, before starting their own venue, rallying a 'New Race' of disaffected inner-city kids. The intensity that drove them turned inwards during their 1978 tour of the UK in the 'Van of Hate'. Years later they reform, but will the forces that drove their struggle destroy the band.
