One of his early works Beethoven intended itnbspas a vehicle for his own virtuoso performances The work follows the concerto style pioneered by Mozart it also features the young Beethovens sense of drama It was performed for this film by Leif Ove Andsnes and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra It was recorded at the Palais des Beaux Arts Brussels November 18th 2013

This C Minor concerto was first performed on 5 April 1803 with Beethoven himself as soloist Historians notenbspresemblances to Mozarts 24th piano concerto For this series it was performed by Leif Ove Andsnes and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and was recorded in Rudolfinum Prague May 23rd 2012

This G Major Concerto made its public debut on December 22 1803 with Beethoven as the soloist It was his last solo performance with an orchestra Performed by Leif Ove Andsnes and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra Recorded at the Palais des Beaux Arts Brussels November 18th 2013

This famous work of Beethoven is popularly known as the Emperor Concerto It was his last completed piano concerto He wrote it in Viennanbspbetween 1809 and 1811 and dedicated to his patron and pupil Archduke Rudolf nbspFor this series it is performed by Leif Ove Andsnes and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and recorded at the Prague Spring Festival Rudolfinum Prague May21st 2014
