Alex and Anna, expecting their first child, decide to move into Alex’s parent's house in the upscale suburb of Solsidan. Alex’s childhood friend, Fredde, lives next door with his trophy wife, Mickan, and their children.

Alex starts to doubt that he’s the father of the baby and suspects Anna had an affair with actor Ola Rapace while she was away on a movie shoot. Fredde gets the barbecue bug and insists that anything can be grilled.

How do you agree on what to call your child and what's the fairest way to share nappy-changing duties? These are the big questions for our Solsidan families.

Alex and Fredde try to outdo each other’s culinary skills after Alex thinks that Fredde found his risotto too simple. Fredde invites Anna and Alex for an “informal dinner” and serves up a grandiose three-course meal.

Ove the bore completely flip Alex’s lid. He comes to regret this when his mother asks him to get her into the golf club, where Ove is a member of the board. Meanwhile, Fredde worries about going bald.

Alex runs into Sofie, who was the hottest girl in high school. It makes him think about aging and his own attractiveness. Fredde tells him about the theory that everybody, sooner or later, becomes equally attractive.

Alex and Anna think that all their friends are superficial. However, after an evening with some new friends, they realise that intellectual bubble-headed snobs can be stressful too.

Mickan’s new friendship with a handsome dad on paternity leave makes Fredde suspicious and jealous. Alex tries to cool him down, but after spying on the playground, Casanova Fredde decides to retaliate.

Fredde and Alex plan to spend midsummer with their families and some carefully chosen friends at Fredde and Mickan’s beautiful house in the archipelago. But the evening doesn't go as planned.

It’s finally time for Anna and Alex to become parents. Alex tries his best to help Anna at the hospital, while Fredde has to take charge of Alex's home renovations after scaring away Alex’s contractors.
