The Richmond Rosies

The film follows the lives of five women who came to Richmond, California during World War II to build ships. These women became welders, electricians , pipe fitters, and draftswomen and worked at the largest shipyard in the world, The Kaiser Shipyards. Nearly eight hundred Victory and Liberty ships were built between 1943-1945! Nearly a ship a day. These were the women who built ships.
