Based on Marsha Norman's off-Broadway play, "Getting Out" follows a young Georgia ex-con (Rebecca De Mornay, "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle") who attempts to gain custody of her prison-born son and shake off the toxic influence of her mother (Ellen Burstyn, "Requiem for a Dream").
