The Other One

Catherine's dad died and he was the best dad ever but he had a huge secret. He had a mistress ... and another daughter, also called Catherine. Now these two sets of mothers and daughters are thrown together Cat wants to spend as much time with Cathy as possible to make up for the last 28 years, but Cathy has a wedding to plan.

Catherine and Catherine may have lost their dad, but they are getting used to having each other in their lives. Cathy is forced to bring their dad's two-berth cruiser round to Cat's because Tess cannot stand the sight of anything belonging to Colin. Cat mistakenly assumes it's her birthday present from Cathy and cannot believe she's been given a yacht.

Cathy returns from wedding dress shopping to find someone has taken her office chair (the one with the really good lumber support). When a colleague returns it all the anger, grief and frustration that's been building up is released and Cathy attacks the chair in the middle of her open-plan office.

Cathy and Tess are moving out of the family home so, in order for them to get some closure, Cathy invites Cat and Marilyn to have a look around and take anything they might like. Cathy proposes the idea of a memorial bench for Colin, which Cat assumes is like the Princess Diana fountain, so agrees to chip in.

With her mum refusing to go, Cathy's hen do invitees are Auntie Dawn, Marilyn, Cat and an old school friend. It doesn't turn out to be the classy, edifying affair Cathy wanted

It's the evening before their wedding and Cathy and Marcus are about to leave for their pre-nup drink-up. Marcus (a terrible thrower) chucks Cathy the car keys but they miss her and accidentally leave a scuff on the wall which Cathy just cannot forget about. She becomes consumed by the scuff. It's all she can talk about at the party, asking all the guests for advice on how to clean it off.

Fed up with Cathy festering in her bed, post-wedding cancellation, and stalking Marcus and Meredith on what was supposed to be Cathy and Marcus' honeymoon, Cat decides the best thing to cheer her up is to take her away on their own sister honeymoon.
