Rurouni Kenshin (2023) (Original Japanese Version)

With Aoshi wounded, the Oniwaban Group rushes to face the Gatling gun and save their leader. Kenshin and the others work together to attempt to save Megumi. In the aftermath, the survivors are forced to rethink the trajectory of their lives.

Yahiko's recurring absence piques the curiosity and concern of Kenshin, Kaoru, and Sanosuke. To determine who has the correct theory on why he's disappearing, the three follow Yahiko and discover that he's fighting battles of his own.

Kaoru, Kenshin, and Yahiko visit Maekawa Dojo for a training session, and Kaoru's training is well-received by the students of other sword styles. A swordsman named Isurugi Raijuta breaks in.

Raijuta, who wants to revive the murderous sword, considers Kenshin, who denies his idea, as an enemy. Raijuta initiates a fight using his actual sword, but Kenshin lands a blow that breaks Raijuta's sword and stops the situation from escalating further.

Yutaro sustains a heavy injury from Raijuta's sword, and it is so severe that he will never be able to swing a sword with that arm ever again.
