Expedition to Eternal Ice

In the spring of 1930, when Alfred Wegener sets off on his third Greenland expedition, he hopes it will be the crowning glory of his career. Just a few years earlier he created a furore when he published his theory of continental drift; now he intends to revolutionise climatic research. For a whole year he and his team will compile data from high in the atmosphere and deep in the ice sheet.
