Kamen Rider Ryuki

There's been an outbreak of incidents of monsters from the Mirror World targeting and attacking humans. Chasing after these cases is journalist-in-training Shinji Kido, who picks up a strange card deck that grants him the power of becoming a "Masked Rider," enabling him to fight these monsters, and dragging him into a furious battle...

Somehow Shinji manages to break out of the Mirror World, but since that day he's been followed by the figure of a dragon. Yui Kanzaki hands Shinji the card "Seal" and says if he seals the dragon-shaped monster with it, he'll be able to continue living as he has been without becoming embroiled in things he can't understand.

Shinji has become Masked Rider Ryuki. Appearing before him is Shiro Kanzaki, Yui's missing older brother. Shiro was the man who created the card decks and the Masked Riders. He leaves Shinji with the puzzling words, "Defeat the Riders." To Yui, who doubts those are the real intentions of her brother, Shinji will...

Darkwing attacks a young girl. Is Ren's intention to strengthen his monster going so far that now he's making Darkwing attack humans? Not caring about Shinji's suspicions, Ren's questionable behavior doesn't stop. However, Yui won't listen to Shinji's words. Then, Shinji challenges Ren to a showdown.

The third Rider makes an appearance: Masked Rider Scissors. Ren suspects Kaga, the missing manager of the antique shop, is Scissor's true identity and pursues him to those whereabouts. Knight challenges Scissors to battle. Shinji opposes Ren who can only think about fighting and wants a dialogue with Scissors but...

The trail Ren has been following to find Scissors is cut off, and Scissors' shadow creeps towards Yui. At the same time, Shiro Kanzaki's harsh rule demands Masked Riders must battle each other. Shinji has never once seriously paid attention to that rule, however... 

Sanako, Atori's owner and Yui's aunt, returns from her long trip. But Sanako doesn't care for Ren and immediately butts heads with him. Meanwhile, Shinji meets the lawyer Shuichi Kitaoka through his investigation for his article. Before long, together with Kitaoka, Shinji winds up being chased by shady men... 

Sanako takes a liking to Shinji and recommends living together. But Ren can't stand the thought of Shinji getting closer with Yui. At the same time, a somewhat altered frog is discovered in the large forest. Reiko infers there's a problem with industrial waste, but the pharmaceutical company's attorney that stands in her way is the lawyer Kitaoka.

Nanako Shimada, the genius systems manager and support of ORE Journal, has been abducted. Shinji is chosen to bring the ransom and pays a visit to a dilapidated house deep in the mountains. He is attacked by a man who seems like the culprit, and just as he desperately resists, a monster appears from the windowpane... 

Ren is injured in the battle with Zolda. Moreover, Kitaoka uses his position as a lawyer to ensnare Shinji in a trap. Ren and the others try to dismiss Kitaoka but... Meanwhile, Goro is the only one the young girl Yukari will open up to. Hearing a dreadful truth from her mouth, Goro will...

Ren speeds towards Seimeiin University on his bike to seek out his memory of the past, and the fragmented pieces of his mind are restored. Meanwhile Yui is at the university to investigate the Ejima Research Lab her brother Shiro Kanzaki appeared to be a part of and she starts talking to a former member.

A strange figure appears before Ren who has renewed his vow to fight. Elsewhere Shinji is gathering material to report on an urban legend about people vanishing from a nonstop elevator and suddenly meets with Goro. Under the impression that Goro is Zolda, Shinji vehemently condemns his cowardly methods but...

After taking Ryuki's counterattack, Zolda is defeated. Shinji, having taken down his first Rider, swears to give up being a Rider but... Meanwhile Knight is unable to defeat Raia. Tezuka easily sees through his indecision. As Dragreder bares its fangs at Shinji, Ren and Goro are...

Tezuka sees a vision of a fight between a new Masked Rider and Knight. However, Ren won't listen to Tezuka's words. What Shinji and Yui see when they sneak into the university at night is...

In pursuit of Ryuki, Knight and Raia rush into the Mirror World. They find Ryuki returned to his blank form now that Gai has stolen his contract card. Unless he retrieves the card he won't be able to transform into Ryuki, and if the card is destroyed Shinji will be attacked by Dragreder.

While cornering Gai, Knight is unable to finish him off. In such a state, Jun presumes Ren has retired and Tezuka deems this will be his ruin. Meanwhile, giving in to Yui's pleas, Seimeiin University's Nakamura brings her the materials related to Shiro Kanzaki. Also Jun's various wrongdoings are discovered and he is arrested by the police.

Kitaoka, who was the attorney for Asakura, quits being his lawyer due to Asakura's excessive brutish behavior. Shiro Kanzaki appears before Asakura in his solitary cell. At the same time, Jun is released from police custody thanks to Kitaoka. Separate from Shiro Kanzaki's intentions, Jun also begins scheming to drag Shinji and Ren into battle again.

Meanwhile Tezuka has noticed there is also a riddle around Yui Kanzaki and together with her, they open the door on her sealed past...
