Lucy is all excited for the big event that only comes once a year, the Fairy Tail hanami party! But before that she heads up Mt. Hakobe with Natsu and the gang for what she thought would be an easy request...

Wendy's gotten used to doing jobs at Fairy Tail and wants to try taking on something bigger so she can be more help to everyone, but gets into an argument with Carla over it.

Once a year, the master holds a mandatory 24-hour long road race for all the members of Fairy Tail. Jet seems to be a shoe-in to take the victory again this year, but the real competition is making sure not to come in last, because that wizard must face an unspeakable punishment from the master himself! For this day only, the Fairy Tail Wizards aren't allies, but bitter rivals!

Fairy Tail is going along without trouble, when all of a sudden an alarm rings out, and Natsu and the rest erupt in jubilation! Yes, Fairy Tail's strongest wizard, Gildarts, has returned!

With Gajeel searching for his own cat and Natsu sound asleep, Fairy Tail is unusually peaceful. Why then is Carla the only one that seems apprehensive? Does she know something that the others don't?

Natsu and Happy, along with Wendy and Carla, are the only ones left after Fairy Tail, guild and all, is sucked into an alternate world named Edolas! What's more, Carla seems to know something about what happened...

Edolas... It's almost like a parallel world! A different world with a different culture and history from Earthland... And in it exists a completely "different" Fairy Tail?!

Natsu and Wendy have come to Edolas to rescue their friends who have been absorbed for their magic power! But traveling in Edolas, a land where magic can't be used freely, Natsu quickly attracts trouble...

Who appears before Natsu and the gang, but none other than Earthland Lucy! Sent to Edolas by Mystogan, she can somehow still use her magic, and successfully drives away the Royal Army forces!

Our heroes reach the Royal City, where Edolas's dictator King Faust reveals his evil plans for the lacrima that was once all the people of Magnolia! Natsu and Lucy can barely hold back their anger, but is there some way to approach the castle without being caught by the army?

Natsu and Wendy are thrown in jail, while Lucy is taken to be executed! Meanwhile, Happy and Carla find themselves in Extalia, the kingdom of the Exceeds... But to their shock, Extalia is a land filled with cats like them! Heralded as heroes for completing their duty, Happy and Carla are escorted to the Queen, but what exactly was their duty to begin with anyway? The shocking truth is...

Happy and Carla run from their fate, and Happy declares "We're going to save our friends!" When the two are chased, the Exceed couple which gives them shelter is...

Happy and Carla have learned the truth about their origins and realized that they, Exceeds, are the only creatures in Edolas that have magic power within their bodies! Meanwhile, the Queen has ordered Lucy to be executed, and the evil Byron has sinister plans for the two Dragon Slayers, Natsu and Wendy. Will they make it in time?!

Just in time, who appears before the captured Lucy? Gray and Erza! Gajeel's Dragon Slayer Magic somehow resurrected them from the giant lacrima! But then, an epic battle breaks out between the two Erzas. Meanwhile, King Faust has a truly sinister plan for the magic power he extracted from Natsu and Wendy...

Natsu, Lucy, and Gray hurry to strike down Edolas's King Faust before he can execute Code ETD! But standing in their way are the Royal Army's Hughes and Sugar Boy!

It's Lucy vs. Bydo and Gray vs. Sugar Boy in a mad dash for the key to the Dragon Chain Cannon! Edolas plans to use it to ram the lacrima into Extalia, so the Fairy Tail gang goes all out to make sure that key never falls back into King Faust's hands!

ith Sugar Boy, Bydo, and Hughes all defeated, Gray and Natsu try to figure out a way to get to the Dragon Chain Cannon and use it to save everyone, instead of using it to ram the lacrima into Extalia like King Faust intends. But the room is sealed with an anti-wizard barrier, and time is running out! Just then, Erza appears, but is it the Erza that brings hope, or despair?!

The Dragon Chain Cannon has been fired, and the floating island with the giant lacrima is hurtling toward Extalia! Can Natsu and the others stop it in time? Back on Extalia, the Queen is notified of the incoming threat... Will the Queen, said to have the power of God, finally show her hand to strike down the rebelling humans?

Extalia might be saved, and the giant lacrima sent back to Earthland, but trouble isn't over yet for Edolas, because Erza Knightwalker and her Legion squadron of the Royal Army are here to spoil everyone's celebration!

Lucy, Gray, Happy and Carla are surrounded by the Legion Regiment of the Royal Army, while Natsu, Wendy, and Gajeel are facing a forbidden super weapon that repels all magic, piloted by King Faust himself, and Erza has her final showdown with Erza Knightwalker... Exhausted, outnumbered, and on unfamiliar turf, the Fairy Tail wizards have it tough... Is there anyone in Edolas willing to fight ...

With the Royal Army being beating back by Edolas's Fairy Tail, and Edolas Erza out of action, it's up to the Dragon Slayers to take out Droma Anim, King Faust's ultimate magic weapon... But it just keeps sucking up more magic power and getting stronger! Can the Dragon Slayers work together and win? Meanwhile, Prince Jellal starts a giant Anima in reverse, sucking all magic power out of Edolas...

Mystogan, or Prince Jellal as the people from Edolas know him, has set Anima in reverse and all the magic power of Edolas is being sucked into Earthland! But Panther Lily can't bring himself to go along with Jellal's plan to sacrifice himself to make Lily as the new king... However the only way to calm the people is to set up a battle between a villain and a hero... Suddenly, a trio of evil-d...

The Fairy Tail gang is back safe in Earthland, but they've got a whole flock of flying cats as a souvenir! Carla still hasn't forgiven them for the brainwashing and kill the Dragon Slayers mission they gave her, but perhaps there's more to it than meets the eye?

Lead In: Natsu and company return to see the guild as lively as ever, with everyone celebrating Lisanna's return. Meanwhile, in Edolas, Mystogan makes the first steps to rebuilding the kingdom and healing the wounds of the past...
