Sifuentes represents a furrier against the Save The Animals Foundation. Sifuentes, along with others in the law firm, find the case repulsive. Asking McKenzie to take him off the trial, Sifuentes is ordered to go through with it and win.

Corrinne Hammond asks Becker to get her a quick and painless divorce from her husband. Discovering her husband, Randy, is a successful architect with his own firm, Becker sees a large settlement in Corrinne’s future. In light of the firm’s sluggish financial situation, Brackman encourages Becker to get every penny possible out of a settlement.

Earl William’s wife, Jackie, assures Kuzak that her testimony will not incriminate her husband, despite his affair with Nina Corry. Putting her on the stand, she stands by her husband’s alibi that he was with her the night of the murder.

Angry that the main attraction at a nearby bar is “Dwarf Tossing Night”, Harold Stevens, the owner of a neighboring restaurant, hires Sifuentes to bring an end to the cruelty. The bar brings in Hamilton Schuyler, a notorious dwarf lawyer known as “Mighty Mouse”, who uses his size to gain sympathy from the jury. Sifuentes knows he’s in for a tough fight.

After ordering fifty pounds of cantaloupe for the office, Brackman opens the box and a rat scurries out and disappears into the office.

Becker and Dave Meyer are sued by Denise DiNapoli after she takes the advice offered on their divorce tape and then is unhappy with her divorce settlement.

Benny gathers his courage and asks Leo Hackett if he can marry his daughter. Seeing that Benny truly loves Alice, he gives him his permission.

Roxanne is taking classes at the "Stairway to Stardom Recording Institute" to become a singer, and asks the firm's attorneys if they'll attend her graduation performance at a club. They agree.

Becker and Roxanne pack up their personal belongings from his office in the early morning hours. Becker’s absence from the staff meeting is explained by a telegram Brackman receives in which Becker tenders his resignation from the firm. The staff is stunned, and McKenzie is furious. He calls a partners meeting for that evening.

Sifuentes and Allison see a therapist to deal with the emotional after-effects of Allison’s rape; they are bickering and blaming each other. Markowitz is given another trial to handle - an elderly rabbi who is being sued for malpractice for “snipping too much” in a circumcision. Becker enters as McKenzie announces that his name has been added to the firm name. Everyone is cold and silent.

Kuzak represents Walt Brown, a businessman who is suing Alan Scott, a tough cockney candy entrepreneur who forced him out of business. Scott is represented by the eccentric, very English barrister, Sir Nigel Morris. The announcement at the staff meeting of Becker’s name being added to the firm’s title is met with silence. Becker is pissed.

Van Owen is elated by an unanticipated appointment to a superior court bench, but is overwhelmed by the challenges of being a judge. Sifuentes represents an iranian-American woman suing the Pentagon for the loss of her husband. Roxanne organizes a secretarial walk out to protest Brackman's office policies. However, Brackman calls her bluff and fires them all.

Rollins is representing Joey Paul, a comedian who is suing his ex-wife and ex-writer, Lainie, for heckling him at a performance and ruining his act. She claims she was trying to help him, that he isn't funny without her jokes.

Kuzak has a death penalty appeal for Earl Williams scheduled before the Supreme Court, and plans a moot court session with Brackman, Sifuentes and Markowitz for preparation. But he is nervous about the hearing and snaps at his colleagues when they ask pertinent, pointed questions.

At a special evening partners meeting, McKenzie informs the others that he is resigning as senior partner at the end of the week. The partners are stunned. He calls for a vote for a new senior partner on Friday. After the staff meeting the following day, Brackman tells McKenzie he feels betrayed that McKenzie did not turn the reins of the firm over to him.

Rollins is representing Gretchen Wynn, a packager of county fairs, who is being sued by Ray Breecher because the giant African frog he entered into a county fair frog-jumping contest was ruled ineligible. Kelsey’s clients, the black Jackson family, are suing the Haas family for parental liability in the death of the Jackson’s son, who was kicked to death by the Haas’ skinhead son.

A young couple is accused of murdering their handicapped son to collect on an insurance policy. Both contest that the child's death resulted from sudden infant death syndrome. However they suddenly accuse one another of the crime. Markowitz attempts to slip away with Kelsey, but Stuart is arrested for drunk driving. Brackman seeks the services of a professional sexual surrogate.

Having been cured of his sexual problem by surrogate Marilyn, Brackman not only enjoys making love to her, he’s falling in love with her. Rollins represents the Manley’s, a low income Black family who are suing the LAPD which broke into their home, destroyed it and beat them up in a drug raid at the wrong address.

Roxanne’s father is being thrown out of the retirement home he’s in for being disruptive. At the staff meeting, Sifuentes discovers that Rosalind has scheduled some introductory talks with Holstens Companies. Sifuentes is furious, that’s the company he was in litigation against until Rosalind convinced his client to settle for a low offer. He storms out and threatens to quit.

With Becker representing her, Roxanne attempts to gain conservatorship over her father, Murray, who lapses into delusions that he is Ralph Kramden of “The Honeymooners.” Murray represents himself and does pretty well.

Leo Hackett, Alice’s father, has some reservations about her planned marriage to Benny in light of the recent circumstances - her straying and Benny pushing her. Sifuentes, however, suggests that rather than talking to Benny and Alice about it, they should let the pair work it out for themselves, if they’re serious about marriage.

Kelsey is defending the Chicago Bears football team against an avid Bears fan that is suing the franchise because it claimed it had a top-notch team headed for the Super bowl, but wound up with only a six and ten record.
