Claire Darling (Catherine Deneuve) decides to rid herself of her entire estate and lays out all her possessions for one splendid garage sale. As hordes of neighbors fight over the antiques, each object brings back vivid memories of Claire's flamboyant life. Alerted to her mother's strange behavior, Marie Darling (Chiara Mastroianni) soon arrives and tries to put a stop to the sale.
