Murder in Suburbia

DI Kate Ashurst and DS Emma Scribbins investigate the murder of a young woman, Nikki Pengelly, who was a member of a singles club.

One of the owners of Middleford's private golf club is found dead and handcuffed in the swimming pool on his raucous stag night. Ash and Scribbs attempt to line up suspects but the old boys' network keeps interfering.

When a man is found murdered in a burnt-out car, Ash and Scribbs' investigation takes them into Millionaire's Row - the top end of the suburban scale.

But after one of the club's co-owners drowns at his stag party, Ash and Scribbs discover that it's also the heart of sexual intrigue, office infighting, political corruption--and murder.

Ash and Scribs investigate the death of Lyn Chichester, who is found stabbed to death in the doorway of a charity shop where she worked having written the letter "F" in blood in her last moments alive.

A burnt-out, smoking Mercedes. A charred corpse in the passenger's seat. A single set of footprints leading away from the scene. The clues take Ash and Scribbs to Millionaire's Row, where everyone has piles of money and secrets worth killing to keep.

Ash and Scribbs investigate the death of Helen McKee, a school secretary, run down by a car. The headmaster knows no reason anyone would want Helen dead - she was very popular.

Middleford Comprehensive offers an education to die for, if you can get your child in. As gatekeeper, school secretary Helen McKey could subtly influence admissions, but then a hit-and-run driver sent her on permanent sabbatical. Ash and Scribbs sort out which highly motivated parent had a motive for murder.

A DIY enthusiast, Patrick, is bludgeoned to death with his hammer whilst installing an elaborate pond in his back garden. His wife, Wendy is found clutching the murder weapon.

Bernard Lloyd raised an incessant ruckus with his DIY projects--until someone remodeled the back of his skull with a claw hammer. Is the killer his long-suffering wife? A fed-up neighbor? Never content with the obvious suspects, Ash and Scribbs realize that the truth will require deeper digging.
