Mutilated bodies have washed up on the sandy shores of Sable Island, a remote spit of land in the North Atlantic, where a baffling killer lurks in the frigid waters. The carcasses belong to grey seals, and bizarre spiral wounds have led to the theory that one of the most elusive of all aquatic predators is responsible - the Greenland shark.
