Women of the IDF

Meet the Women of the IDF: Vee, Leah, Shahar, Lior and Ella. They're friends and sometimes frenemies. Vee is a combat soldier, Leah is a basic training commander, Lior is a combat fitness instructor, Shahar is a combat squad commander, and Ella is a tank driving instructor. On the weekend, the girls go out and go to the beach. Vee and Lior clash, and they all chill out doing surfboard yoga.

Vee's squad looks for the infiltrator and she guards the Jordan River site where John baptized Jesus. Leah's trainees have kitchen duty and a conversation about gender equality. Lior and her team clean the bathroom. Ella bonds with her soldiers and their driving improves. Shahar's squad patrols the Egyptian border. On the weekend they go to paintball. That's when the real fighting starts.

Israel is attacked by rockets from Gaza and everything is put in perspective: family, relationships, the importance and danger in their work. Shahar and her boyfriend break military rules and could get in trouble. Leah goes home where her family lives with the constant threat of rockets. She takes Lior and Ella to the Gaza border where the threat is ever present.

On their resort vacation, the girls go to the pool and explore their feminine side. They go clubbing and Vee acts as Leah's wing woman, getting her a date. The girls do a high fashion photo shoot with a top stylist and Ella faces her insecurities. Their brunch plans are interrupted when Vee gets an emergency call to go back to the base.

Vee's squad gets firebombed on a raid to arrest a terrorist. Shahar's mother is a role model for the girls. Lior motivates her soldiers and gets a surprise at the base. Ella runs her soldiers through their final combat drill. After the final march, and much personal growth, one of Leah's soldiers is chosen as the outstanding soldier of the platoon.

Shahar gets her final promotion. Lior, Ella, and Shahar take their frustrations out at kickboxing. Vee and Leah visit Jerusalem, the ancient heart of Jewish life. They compare themselves to the American girls they meet there and pray at the Western Wall. All the women meet for lunch as they look back over their army service and look ahead to the future.
