As accidents suddenly become more frequent in the economically depressed city of Karmack, USA, the town hall decides to hire a "Middle Man" to pay residents a personal visit to inform them of their next-of-kin's demise. After an awkward young man is chosen for the job, the town hall discovers that their Middle Man will not save them from losing face with the residents of Karmack.
