Stig of the Dump

Barney is ten years old, spending a lonely summer with his grandparents. One day while wandering, he is chased by village bullies and tumbles down an overgrown quarry. There he meets Stig, a caveman, hundreds of thousands years old. So begins a special friendship, and a story which has charmed children and adults alike ever since it was first published in 1963.
