Soul singer Boyce Ballentine moves his family to St. Louis to become a preacher, and his daughter Lyric wants to be on MTV's "My Super Sweet 16."

Barton gets overinvolved with how his son practices his ministry, leading Lolli to think he needs female companionship, and Lyric practices driving by running errands with Stamps.

The choir director convinces Boyce to hire outside singers (Tamar and Trina Braxton) to win a competition, while Lolli hires womanizing Stamps to shampoo at her salon.

Boyce's plans for a quiet birthday with Lolli are disrupted when his bickering former neighbors from Las Vegas visit, hampering Lolli's plans for a surprise party.

Boyce's high school girlfriend visits (looking for more than spiritual guidance), while Barton reveals his last will and testament to his sons after attending a funeral.

When Boyce suffers preacher's block, Lolli invites his former writing partner to help, while Barton and Stamps get trapped after installing an alarm system in Boyce's office.

Boyce is tested by a powerful clerical group that could make or break his church, while Lolli hosts a tea party for the church ladies and Boyce's cousin spikes the punch.
