Never one to keep to the same tack, he's worked with Al Pacino and Johnny Depp in the gangland thriller Donnie Brasco, Julia Roberts in the emotive Mona Lisa Smile, dealt admirably with wizards and wands in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
