Exotic Islands

Hunter Reno takes off for the Isle of Man, off the coast of England, and discovers that life on this sleepy island in the Irish Sea can actually be quite fast-paced. Beginning our journey in the capital city of Douglas and later visiting Laxey, Castletown, Cregneash and Peel, we'll explore many things the island has to offer, including vintage trains, a water wheel, quad biking and wool-weaving.

In this special edition of Exotic Islands, we start by revisiting the island of Aruba. Then we're off to Moreton Island to slide down sand dunes and glide through a shipwreck. From there we head to Western Samoa, before stopping off at St. Kitts for some snorkeling and kayaking. We'll do some dancing on the beach in the Seychelles. Then it's on to the Azores for bullfighting, beach-style!

In this special beach party edition of Exotic Islands, we revisit Tobago, followed by the island of Mauritius and some eel fishing and traditional dancing. Then we're off to St. Vincent and the Grenadines. From there we head to Newfoundland for a Viking feast, before taking off for Nevis. The last leg of the journey takes us to the Fijian islands for the ultimate beach party.

Aboard a small speedboat, Hunter Reno travels to the beautiful Baleine Falls. Along the way, she drops anchor to do some scuba diving and discovers the rich and colorful coral life below the water. Later, she boards a catamaran form Union Island to tour the Tobago Cays, meeting up with some French tourists who are eager to share their experiences with her.

Steep, rugged mountains, jungle terrain and cascading waterfalls abound on the Caribbean island of Dominica. On this least commercialized island of the Caribbean, Hunter Reno meets up with the last remaining Carib village in the Caribbean, where she participates in preparing a traditional style breakfast, and plays the drums with a local Carib family!

Known as the Paris of the West Indies, the Caribbean island of Martinique is a place where the smell of freshly brewed cappuccino mixes with the fragrant aromas of wild orchids! Host Hunter Reno savors a taste of the island's delicacies before experiencing Martinique's distinctive music! Later Reno winds her way through the dense rainforest interior to the seaside town of St. Pierre!

Hunter Reno travels to the Cayman Islands and discovers a charming place where the worlds of high finance and duty-free shopping meld together with underwater attractions that boast some of the best dive sites on earth. Reno plunges to a depth of 100 feet below the surface on the Atlantis Submarine and visits "Stingray City," where she swims with and feeds 100 wild stingrays!

Hunter Reno discovers an island full of vibrant people and majestic mountains; where children welcome visitors to their villages, and landscapes invite you to experience the untouched beaches! From Santo Domingo, the oldest city in the Americas where Reno explores the cobblestone streets, to the rugged waters off Las Terranas, where she learns to sail a 16-foot catamaran!

Jamaica usually conjures up images of reggae, but on this episode of Exotic Islands, host Hunter Reno journeys in search of the hidden gems this incredibly diverse island has to offer. Hunter traverses the wildly varied terrain of the island, visiting the plantations of the northwest, the mist-covered Blue Mountains of the interiors, and the rarely traveled rugged southwest shore.

Host Hunter Reno begins her adventure through the enchanted Galapagos Islands at the town of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, one of the few inhabited areas of the island archipelago. But the real excitement of these islands must be explored by boat, and Reno boards the luxurious Galapagos Explorer II which will serve as her vessel to transport her though the island chain.

Hunter Reno begins her journey in the quaint town of Ancud, where Chilote fisherman maintain the same sea-faring lifestyle they have for centuries. After sampling a few shots of the local specialty, "Liquor de Oro," Reno experiences the real hospitality of this island! Then she is off to the beautiful and rugged Pacific coast of the island, where she takes a horseback ride along the coast.

The Philippines are best known for their unique spirit of pride and devotion. And in the heart of the Philippines is Luzon, a place of bewitching beauty and blazing passion. Our adventures there include a canoe ride up the rapids of the Bumbugan River to the Magdapio Falls, a festival parade in Lucban, and a visit with a family of ceremonial fire-walkers in Alfonso!

Although Puerto Rico often conjures up images of fancy resorts and festive nightlife, this island offers amazing natural treasures. Hunter Reno seeks out Puerto Rico's "underworld" and adventures to the Camuy Cave Park, home to the third largest cave network in the world. After a long hike, she takes the plunge-and repels by rope into the interior of the Cathedral Cave.

The island of St. Martin is often seen as the Caribbean's lap of luxury-a sun-drenched paradise that offers the best of the best. Seeking the high life, host Hunter Reno tours downtown Marigot, the island's French capital, for some boutique browsing along the waterfront. Then, she gets a lively tour of St. Martin's strangely fascinating Butterfly farm and relaxes at a mountaintop spa.

The contrasts of New Zealand's North Island are many-thermal hot springs and volcanoes versus pastoral scenery and sheep farms; the customs of the indigenous Maori people versus the culture of the European settlers. As host Hunter Reno explores the island known as "the world's most efficient farm," she discovers that diversity is the recipe for a fascinating adventure.

Known as the "Adventure Capital of the World," the South Island of New Zealand is a land of extremes-extreme landscapes, extreme adventures, and extreme fun. Hunter Reno heads to Fiordland to kayak through the splendor of Milford Sound. She ends her trip by participating in the exciting and hilarious Guinness Games, an annual celebration of the fun-loving South Islanders.

Hunter Reno's first stop is Key Largo, where she goes diving with a sea captain who has made friends with a barracuda and an eel. In Islamorada, the sports fishing capital of the world, Reno tries to land "the Big One." She finishes her trip in Key West and takes a seaplane out to the Tortugas National Park for some snorkeling and a tour through the majestic Fort Jefferson.

Hunter Reno explores the amazing beauty of this emerging island nation of 17,000 residents and revels in the fascinating world beneath the water. Her first stop is Jellyfish Lake, an unbelievably eerie natural phenomenon. With marine biologists to guide her, Reno swims with millions of the hypnotic, alien-like little creatures and learns about their daily "journey."

In Cyprus, Hunter Reno explores mountains and sea with an adventure tour of the western reaches of the island. She then travels to Paphos for a night of Greek music and dancing that reaches amazing heights. From the spectacular amphitheater at Kourion to the religious frescoes in the caves of St. Neophytos, Reno marvels at the rich history and art that Cyprus has to offer!

The Greek Islands have lured travelers for millennia, from the ancient gods who toyed with mere mortals to modern jet-setters in search of sun-filled days and party-filled nights. Of the 1,400 islands that make up Greece, only 170 or so are inhabited, and host Hunter Reno takes a sailing trip to three of them-Santorini, Delos, and Mykonos.

Hunter Reno's first stop is the Gorge of Theriso, where she scales the limestone face of a mountain. She then heads to the coastal city of Rethymno to try her hand at making the Greek dessert baklava. Reno travels inland to some small mountain villages and learns how to weave and dance in the traditional Greek way. Her final stops take her to Chania, a port city with a long history!

Hunter Reno sets out to experience the magic that the island of Maui offers! Beginning in Lahaina, Reno prepares for her first surfing lesson. After "hanging ten," she heads up-country to herd bulls with the panicles, the original American cowboys. Setting sail for the island of Lanai, she spends the day discovering the charm of Lanai City and the underwater limestone arches of Huopohehe Bay!

Treacherous reefs have protected this tiny island from invasion for centuries, but today Bermuda is a friendly host to travelers looking to experience British culture in a tropical setting. Hunter Reno's first stop is the Royal Naval Dockyard, an imposing maritime site that is now home to Bermudian artists. Traveling to the capital city of Hamilton, she meets up with the famous Gombey Dancers!

The historic island of Hawaii continues to inspire legendary tales. We begin exploring the island along the Kona Coast before heading to Mauna Lani for some time-traveling sailing. Then we trek to the top of Mauna Kea and visit Hilo for an early-morning auction. We'll take a dance class in Kailua-Kona before finishing our trip in Waikoloa at a tourist-pleasing extravaganza.
