When the body of a local farmer is found in a remote river in the middle of the North Wales countryside, DCI Cadi John and DS Owen Vaughan are called to investigate.

Cadi and Own look into reports of animal abuse at the Williamses’ farm, while Siôn stews over his financial debt, and Father McEwan pays a visit to Glyn.

After arresting Polish migrant worker Piotr Korecki, Cadi and Owen interrogate him about the CCTV footage of his altercation with Ifan.

Cadi tries to move forward by focusing on work. Siôn loses his job and takes out his anger and frustration on his brother. The past comes back to haunt Father McEwan.

When Father McEwan’s dead body is discovered, Cadi and Owen learn information about the long-ago arson attack that links Ifan, the priest, and the Thomas brothers.

Cadi and Owen race to prevent Siôn from doing something desperate. With the case solved, Cadi realizes she can’t leave Wales behind without taking one last chance.
