17th-century, Spain. After being accused of having an illegitimate child with a servant, Don Salluste, a wicked and greedy Minister of Finance is dismissed from his functions. When he learns that it is the queen who is at the origin of his disgrace, he plots a most treacherous revenge and tries to dishonor her.
