Shôyô arrive au lycée Karasuno, déterminé à rejoindre le club de volley-ball pour battre Tobio. Mais il découvre son rival dans le gymnase.

Shôyô et Tobio s'entrainent pour le match de samedi. Shôyô endure patiemment les longues séances de réception, dans l'espoir que Tobio lui fasse une passe.

Le jour du match est arrivé. Kageyama et Hinata, aidés par Tanaka, affrontent en trois contre trois Tsukishima et Yamaguchi, aidés du Capitaine, Sawamura.

Le binôme Kageyama-Hinata fonctionne et leur équipe remporte le trois contre trois. Les nouveaux Seconde sont officiellement admis au Club de volley et reçoivent leur tenue.

Karasuno affronte Aoba Josai. Hinata est mort de trac, il se met la pression tout seul, pensant qu'il va atterrir sur le banc de touche s'il déçoit son équipe.

Fin du match contre Aoba Josaï. Oikawa se présente pour les derniers points. Passeur titulaire, il était absent pour blessure. Il cloue sur place Karasuno avec ses services parfaitement ciblés.

Hinata et Kageyama font la connaissance de Nishinoya, le libero de Karasuno. Mais celui-ci refuse de revenir jouer au Club si Asahi, le pointu, n'en fait pas autant.

Takeda réussit à embaucher Ukaï comme coach en lui faisant miroiter le match contre le lycée Nekoma.

Chacun trouve sa place dans cette deuxième partie de match.

Karasuno part en camp d'entraînement et se prépare à affronter son ancien rival, les Chats de Nekoma.

Les Corbeaux désordonnés de Karasuno se heurtent à l'équipe soudée des Chats de Nekoma.

Nekoma remporte le deuxième set de justesse. Hinata réclame une revanche et le coach Nekomata accepte de jouer un deuxième puis un troisième match.

The much awaited day of Interhigh preliminaries has come. Karasuno's first match is against Tokonami High School. Sawamura battles against a former teammate in junior high, Ikejiri. The tournament is now official; one loss and you're out of the running. It's time for Karasuno's revival. Onward to the battle!

Karasuno is winning the first round of Interhigh against Tokonami. But though Tokonami knows they're outclassed, they don't give up, they keep the ball in play. On another court, in spite of Michimiya's encouragement, the Karasuno girls' team is having a rough battle. Everyone is immersed in thought, but there can only be one winner!

The second match of Interhigh preliminaries has begun. Azumane has a history with Date Kogyo, but he is determined to rise to the occasion. Dateko's tactic is to throw their opponent off kilter with their serves - but Karasuno focuses on receives. The wall of Dateko looms high; what will Karasuno do?

Thanks to Hinata and Kageyama's cornerstone "freak quicks," Karasuno is in the lead against Date Tech. But with Aone blocking, Date Tech starts catching up to Karasuno. This is when the ace Azumane must prove his worth. Will Azumane blast through Date's iron wall?

Karasuno's volleyball team makes it to the third round and they'll be facing off with Aoba Johsai. Seijoh, led by Oikawa, shows even more combination plays than they did in their practice match together. Meanwhile, the coach comes up with a formation to stop Oikawa's powerful serve. The 3rd round Inter-High match against Aoba Johsai has begun. Without wasting any time, Kageyama and Oikawa start a setter battle. Well-experienced as a team, Aoba Johsai scores point after point against Karasuno with Oikawa's serves. Kageyama starts to panic. It's then that Karasuno's mood-maker, Tanak gets riled up. Because Karasuno's plays become messy and the match's rhythm gets thrown off, they change setters. Sugawara goes onto the court in place of Kageyama and because he's always seen things from outside the court, he says he knows what's going on, and Karasuno starts their counterattack. Meanwhile, after seeing the match from the outside, there's a change in Kageyama as well.

In the second set, Kageyama goes back to the court and starts paying more attention to his teammates. He tries to get a bit closer to Tsukishima, who he had been awkward with this whole time. Karasuno finally starts to fight back, using their special quick attack. Meanwhile, Oikawa remembers his junior high days...
