Capt. Stubing gets trapped in a love triangle by his old girlfriend (Sue Ann Langdon), now married to the ship's former captain (Mont model (Pamela Sue Martin) attempts to insure her privacy, but her ruse backfires when she meets two bachelors (Guich Koock and Barry Van Dyke),

On a festive Christmas cruise, two wives (Laraine Stephens and Dorothy Lamour) try to reunite a famous singer (Jack Jones) with his father/ex-partner (real life father Allan Jones); a young stowaway (Meeno Peluce) with a horrible secret latches onto a playboy (Dirk Benedict) and creates havoc with his love life.

Academy Award-winning actress Janet Gaynor and Lew Ayres are reunited as a couple celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary; Doc faces dismissal when the wife (Jessica Walter) of a flirtatious man (Alex Cord) accuses him of making improper advances to her.

The First Lady of the Silent Screen, Lillian Gish, guest stars as Isaac's former English teacher, whom he tries to avoid; a man (Donald O'Connor) boards the ship with a seal that protests the man's romance with an attractive woman (Georgia Engel); and a woman (Florence Henderson) helps her husband (Jeff Tanbor) pick out another wife.

The energetic Charo returns as entertainer April Lopez, who starts another career when she meets a man (Larry Linville), his two bratty children (Rachel Jacobs and Alex Woodard) and their governess (Dody Goodman).

A judge (Nancy Walker) finds herself attracted to a man (George Gobel) she has placed on probation for being married to three women at once; Vicki sees green when her father, Capt. Stubing falls for a beautiful woman (Pat Crowley); and Doc's love life suffers when an overly expectant father(Michael Young) thinks his wife (Murphy Cross) is giving birth. Gopher and Doc battle for the affections of Gopher's gorgeous pen pal (Marie Laurin) who has come to live with him; a retired man whose wife (Dana Wynter) is too busy for him finds romance with a younger Woman (Susan Oliver); and a man (Patrick Wayne) is thrown out of his cabin by the woman (Trish Stewart) whom he brought on the cruise with amorous intentions.

Doc has his arms full when he agrees to show his best friend's amorous wife (Jill St. John) a good time; a man (James Darren) stands to lose $10,000 when his friend (Ron Palillo), who needs one more romantic conquest to break the world's record, falls in love; and a woman (Dorian Lo Pinto), joined by her fiance (Sam Chew), meets someone (Steve Marachuk) who may ruin her wedding plans.

Isaac yearns to enter the world of show business, and recruits the services of three dynamic women (The Pointer Sisters) to help him meet a famous manager (Jeff Cooper); Julie has a bittersweet reunion with her college sweetheart (David Hasselhoff) who wants to rekindle their relationship; and a man who is afraid of water (Louis Nye) takes the cruise with his girlfriend (Audra Lindley).

A nudist (Barbi Benton) gets help from an attorney (Peter Haskell) when she wants to bare it all on board; an embittered woman (Leslie Uggains) thwarts the advances of a fellow passenger (David Hedison), and an overly suspicious man (Dick Martin) has a surprise in store when he meets a beautiful woman (Mary Ann Mobley) who is not what she seems to be.

Gopher has an offbeat romance with his shipboard adversary (Joanna Pettet); a domineering mother (Sylvia Sidney) tries to break up a romance between her son (Eddie Mekka) and a gorgeous girl (Joan Prather); and a beautiful woman (Juliet Mills) finds the ship somewhat crowded when all three of her fiances join her.
